Back in the 70's, my folks and Sue's liked to go camping. As fate would have it we were at the same campground on the same weekend. It was a weekend that we didn't go with our camping group. We were members of "NAFCA" (North American Family Camping Association). It was just a "Let's go camping" kind of weekend.
On Saturday morning, I went down to the 'rec' hall to see if there were any kids or things to do. I found open ping pong tables (2) and Suzanne, at one of the picnic tables on the side of the hall. I asked if she played ping pong and she replied that she would kick my butt. And did. I brought my travel chessboard as I always did and asked if she played chess. She replied "A little". And so I got her back (kicked her butt at chess).
When we said bye, I hadn't asked her for her last name or her address because I didn't think about it.
When my marriages failed, I went over all the females that I had met over the years and Sue came right into view. I was unable to really do any searching for her but I kept her in my mind. There was no way I could ever forget her Bright Ice Blue Eyes with a slim dark ring around the Iris, or her strong personality.
After 20 years of remembering her, it was a really fulfilling experience to run into her again. And all the circumstances that had to take place prior to that meeting for it to actually happen. The odds are phenomenal.
